Il y a deux tendances dans le parti démocrate et deux tendances dans le parti républicain.

Du côté républicain il y a ceux qui se disent : "Aussi bien y aller à fond puisque nous n'avons que deux ans avant que le contrôle du Congrès nous échappe et on ne s'attend pas à conserver le pouvoir". Il y a ceux qui disent : "Allons-y avec prudence afin de conserver nos acquis au Congrès lorsque viendra le renouvellement dans deux ans."

Du côté démocrate il y a ceux qui disent : "Jouons le jeu et comptons sur l'alternance pour rééquilibrer le tout." Il y a aussi ceux qui disent : "Il faut faire quelque chose, la démocratie est en danger, on s'en va vers un régime autocrate."

Le général Mark Milley, ancien chef d’état-major des armées des États-Unis, a déclaré que Donald Trump est un « fasciste jusqu’au bout des ongles » et « la personne la plus dangereuse pour ce pays ». Le général John Kelly, ancien chef de cabinet de Donald Trump, a également qualifié l’ex-président de « fasciste », affirmant qu’il préfère une gouvernance dictatoriale et ne supporte pas la limitation de son pouvoir.

Ayant déjà déclaré trois états d'urgences : concernant l'immigration à la frontière, les énergies fossiles et l'économie des tarifs;

Ayant décidé de politiser la haute fonction publique en supprimant la sécurité d'emploi et en plaçant celle-ci sous la discrétion de l’administration en place, tout en cherchant, par l’action du DOGE, à réduire au maximum le nombre de fonctionnaires;

Ayant entrepris de réduire l'influence des médias libéraux (l'expulsion de quatre d'entre eux des conférences de presse du Pentagone ne serait qu'un début);

Il lui resterait à prendre le contrôle des conseils d'administration des universités libérales ainsi que des forces policières du pays.

Trump ne se soumettra pas à une prochaine élection à moins de pouvoir en prédire le résultat.

Ce qui pourrait contrecarrer l'action de Trump : la résistance populaire intérieure et la situation mondiale.
